How did you first get interested in alternative energy? I got interested in electricity, electronics and audio when I was really young. About nine years old. I had a natural aptitude for it and I wired my first house (well, mountain cabin) when I was 14. As I got older and more aware of the environment, I started studying alternative energy sources and the beneficial effects of their use on the environment. Then, in 1974, when the first phony gas crisis hit, I realized that if a person could be responsible for their own energy sources, life would be, oh, so much easier and less expensive. I began studying alternative and renewable energy sources very seriously then, and still do.

So, you're an environmentalist then? Damn straight! Mankind was granted the stewardship of this planet by Mother Nature, and we've flat screwed it up. Can we ever restore it to the way it used to be and should be? No. But if we make a sincere and concerted effort we can arrest the destruction while we still have a place to live.

Well, what do you recommend? I believe that utility companies must be mandated to begin a program of converting to power generation using renewable sources of energy. Wind, hydro, solar, ethanol, etc. Further, the pollution credit system must be stopped and all industrial polluters must be forced to install effective pollution control equipment. In addition, the creation of distributed generation systems must be implemented. Not only would this aid in the lessening of detrimental pollution, it would also eliminate the probability of wide-spread blackouts such as the one in August 2003. The CAFE system of determining fuel economy must be replaced by an absolute minimum fuel economy standard, and the development and sale of hybrid and RE vehicles must be in the forefront of automotive design.

Are there any new technologies that really excite you? YES! One of the most exciting new technologies, and one which has an absolutely stunning potential to halt the destruction of Planet Earth is the Thermo-Depolymerization Process (TDP), invented by Changing World Technologies. Why is there a "Wolves" page on this site? To me, wolves are the most magnificent animal on the Earth. They are highly intelligent, gentle, loyal and have a great sense of humor. I've been fortunate to be able to share my life with wolves a couple of times and I hope to again. In the Native American belief system, each person has an animal who is their protector, their guardian, in the Spirit World. The Wolf is my Spirit Keeper, my totem.
